This is the privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) of the DeepLabCut labeling app (DLA) and describes how the DeepLabCut team (“DeepLabCut team,” “We,” “Us” or “Our”) handles Personal Information (as defined below) that users (“You,” “Your” or “User”) provide to Us, or that We collect from You through the use of Our Website, which is located at https://contrib.deeplabcut.org/).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Your Consent

You should read this entire Privacy Policy before submitting information to us or using our Websites. Whenever You submit personal and non-personal information via our Websites or otherwise to us, whether online or offline, You consent to the collection, use disclosure, transfer, and storage of that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Non-Personal and Personal Information Collection

We record annotation and meta data generated while you actively use the labeling app, this includes:

• - annotation data (e.g., x and y coordinates per body part and image)
• - the associated username that is either automatically created or provided by You
• - fine grained statistics of the labeling process, which can contain all mouse and keyboard events that can be recorded while you work in the labeling app.

Keep in mind that the provided username will become a possibly permanent part of the datasets (to identify different users) and might be referred to in publications and future releases. We therefore encourage you to use a random username which cannot be associated with your identity. In case you want to be acknowledged for (substantial) contributions to models or datasets in the DeepLabCut Model Zoo; please fill out the associated form there for acknowledgment. We will use the annotation data to train models and share datasets. All rights for the annotation data belong to us.
